what makes us hide our true selves?
why don't we expose our personality just the way it is?
i guess it's because we're afraid of being vulnerable.
i mean, by exposing yourself, people know what makes you tick. what you're afraid of. just reading this, i feel scared. i wouldn't want people to compile a book titled "101 Ways to Drive Her Mad". if people don't know you, how would they harm you psychologically?
when we did that exercise on sub-personalities in theatre class, it took so much bravery to stand up, volunteer, and expose your inner self. 




leading up to the other thing, facades.people  create "masks" and live their lives normally. and other's are completely oblivious to the fact they aren't seeing the true person inside. i think people create facades because they want to be accepted. they want to be liked.
not that i could blame them. who wouldn't want friends?
but i can't help thinking that if you have to create a fake self in order to make friends, and they only like and know that fake self,

do you really have any friends?
